Asia Cup, a major cricket tournament between Asian teams. The ideas of such tournament was planned out firstly in April 1984 but due to bilateral series amongst top three cricket team of Asia, it became tough to arrange this tournament on time to time.
The reason, yet only ten Asia cups have played in almost three decades. The top three teams have made their victory in all tournaments and give well performance almost in all matches. India has five titles, Sri Lanka has four titles and Pakistan has one title. The recent champion is Indian who made their victory over Sri Lanka.
The tournament has also seen lots ups and downs in these three decades. India was quit out from 1986 Asia cup due to worst cricketing relation with Sri Lanka. In 1988, Bangladesh made their entrance first time in this sporting event. UAE and Hong Kong made their entrance in 2004 and 2008 and knocked out from first round of tournament.
Asia Cup Cricket Match Schedule 2013
The 2013 Asia cup was firstly schedule as March 1st to March 11th, 2013 but due to end of Tri-Series on March 8, the tournament will be now played from March 12 to March 22. The dates have been rearranged to shun inconsistent with ODI tri-series amongst Australia, India and Sri Lanka in Australia. The venue of this multinational sport remained unchanged. However, Asian giants have made an assurance to gather every second year and working on that, Asian cricket Council has declared the Asia cup cricket match schedule 2013 that will be played in Bangladesh in March month. All matches of this event will be held at Sher-e-Bangla stadium.
Bangladesh, one of the contestants of this sporting event will host the tournament. Each team will play with each other as a form of round robin and top two teams will make their entrance in final. First ODI match will be played between Bangladesh and Pakistan as an opening match at Sher-e-Bangla stadium. It will be a tournament of four team that begins with Pakistan VS Bangladesh that followed by Indian VS Sri Lank on next day.
