Asian Games 2014

A total of 476 events in 42 sports will be matched by athletes, making it the largest event in history of the Asian Games. It will also be the last one to have presented such big events and a lot of events in India, as the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) have enforced new hosting rules for future games, beginning with the 2014 Games.
 
This came after the withdrawal of many cities, from Amman, Kuala Lumpur and Seoul. The Asian games will also be co-hosted by Shanwei, Dongguan and Foshan and the three neighboring cities. Cricket may survive in the 2014 Asian Games.

Cricket's Asian Games' future is on a knife-edge later than the organizers of the 2014 edition in South Korea failed to push through their bid to cut the sport from their programme. Cricket, making its debut in Guangzhou, was targeted for the chop by the city of Incheon, but the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) wants it retained because of its TV appeal.
