The capital of India, New Delhi holds pride in hosting the common wealth games 2010. In the past history, this is the second time that such type of big event will be organized in Asia.

The best part lies in the transportation, accommodation, security, energy consumption and other factors that are highlighted for the ease of over 2 million foreign tourists and 3.5 million domestic tourists that are likely to arrive in Delhi in 2010.

India will be only the third developing country to organize the big event after Jamaica in 1966 and Malaysia in 1998. The opening ceremony of Commonwealth Games 2010 will be organize on October 3 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and the occasion will last till October 14.

Entire the athletes and sports related officials from all the participating 71 countries will be provided with free accommodation in the commonwealth games village, being developed at NH-24, near Akshardham Temple.
This time, for Commonwealth Games 2010, Delhi will be the lucky centre to witness the combination of sports, tourism &.activity. During the Common Wealth Games, 17 sports will be organize in the stadium including - Athletics, Aquatics, Bowls, Badminton, Boxing, Cycling, EAD events, Gymnastics, Hockey, Netball, Rugby sevens, Shooting Squash, Table Tennis and Weightlifting.
The commonwealth games involve the best athletes of the Commonwealth of Nations. This will be the 19th version of Commonwealth Games and the biggest multi sport event to be organized in Delhi and India.
