New Zealand Cricket Team

New Zealand has a long Cricket history. The New Zealand team is popularly famous as the Black Caps. Cricket World Cup has not been a happy ground for the NewZealand or black cap team. In the eight World Cups that have happened so far, New Zealand has not reached the final round of any.

1987 World Cup : This World Cup did not bring any happiness to the New Zealand camp, which was without the services of Richard Hadlee. Perhaps the most disappointing occasion in the tournament was the loss to Zimbabwe and the fact that the Cup went to the rivals Australia only exacerbated the despondency. 1992 World Cup : The 1992 World Cup was the very closest New Zealand could get to reach the cup. So far Crowe's captaincy had been admirable but in the difficult match while the Pakistanis chased the total of 262.

1996 World Cup : The World Cup was also a disappointing one as New Zealand crashed out in the quarterfinals. Sri Lanka became the unbeaten winners.
1999 World Cup : New Zealand reached the again semi-final but was defeated badly by Pakistan for harboring silly hopes of making to the final.
2003 World Cup : 2003 World Cup brought no end to New Zealand's World Cup woes as they finished a poor fifth in the tournament.
2007 World Cup : The ninth ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 in West Indies would be largest edition of this world championship. It was the largest edition of this world championship.
