The ICC Cricket World or International Cricket Council Cup is the big international championship of one-day cricket. The event is contested by all Test-playing countries and all qualifiers. The first championship was take place in 1975, and the event has been held every four years. Cricket is a religion in many country and people are mad about Cricket, especially in India.
The number of teams and matches are increased than first cricket wc match. Total 9 wc matches have been played till now. The opening match was played in 1975, hosted by England. The first world cup title won the West Indies defeating Australia by 17 runs.
The SECOND wc was played in 1979. This was hosted by England and this time West Indies again won the world cup title defeating by England of 92 runs.
The THIRD wc match were take place in 1983, this was hosted by England third time. India won this world cup title defeating by West Indies of 43 runs.
The FOURTH wc was played in 1987, this was hosted by India and Pakistan. This world cup title was won by Australia by defeating England by 7 runs, the closest margin in world cup history.
The FIFTH wc matches were held in New Zealand and Australia in 1992. Pakistan won the title by defeating England by 22 runs.
The Sixth wc match were take place in 1996, this was hosted by India, Srilanka and Pakistan. The sixth ICC Cricket World Cup saw the debut of United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands and Kenya. Australia and Sri Lanka were the two teams that finally went to the finals. And Sri Lanka won the title defeated Australia by 7 wickets.
The SEVENTH wc was played in 1999, this hosted by England, Scotland, Ireland and Netherlands. Australia again won the title defeated Pakistan and got the target in 20 overs.
The EIGHTH wc was hosted by Zimbabwe, South Africa and Kenya in 2003. Australia again won this world cup title by defeating India by 125 runs.
The previous NINETH was played in 2007, this hosted by West Indies. And Australia won the title defeated sri Lanka by 53 runs.
The TENTH ICC cricket world cup is going to take place in 2011.
