IPL Cricket is one of the best possible things and currently among the most awaited events of the year. The 2012 Indian Premier League (IPL) is reportedly set to take place in April and May 2012. The IPL 5th season is likely to begin only a few days after the end of the 2012 Asia Cup, which is also taking place in India at major cricket grounds. The IPL 2012 takes place from April 4 to May 27, 2012.
The 2012 IPL will be the fifth series of the T20 cricket competition and, as a relatively young tournament, tweaks to the rules and format of the competition can be expected from time to time. Total of 9 teams will be played in IPL fifth season out of ten teams as 2011 IPL. Kochi Tusker Kerala is terminated from this tournament.
Each team will play 16 matches same as 2010 and 2011 IPL series. 76 matches are scheduled including play off stages and final, which played amongst all nine teams. The IPL is viewed by over a billion people worldwide. It is a treat for all cricket lovers; a festival of all sorts for marketers, and big, big business for the BCCI that could have happened to T20 cricket.
