The Olympic Games had started at Olympia in Greece in 776 BC. The games were devoted to the twelve Olympian gods and were organized on the earliest green plains of Olympia; the place was famed for its wonderful great temples of the two gods Zeus and his wife Hera. On the 6th April 1896, the American participants James Connolly won the triple jump to become the first Olympic champion in more than fifteen hundred years. From 1896, the winter Olympic Games was played till 1992 same year alongside summer Olympic Games that was divided after 1992. After dividing, the games have held every two years alternately.
