Commonwealth Events

The 2010 Commonwealth Games will starts on 3rd October 2010 and will running till the 14th October 2010. This event is definite to be an exciting one. With plenty of participating nations, trying their hand in dissimilar sporting events, there will be a lot of fun-filled excitement all over.
 
In fact, Delhi is almost ready to receive the guests and all possible arrangements are being made and in few one have already been made. There are total 17 sports planned for the Commonwealth Games 2010. They include: Athletics, Aquatics, Gymnastics, Tennis, Table Tennis, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Squash, Shooting, Rugby 7s, Netball, Lawn Bowls, Hockey, Cycling, Boxing, Badminton, and Archery.

2010 Commonwealth Events


There will be a traditional flag parade, fireworks and other cultural events that will follow. The 2010 commonwealth mascot is- Shera, The Tiger will be present throughout. It will engage centre stage. Given below are few of the major 2010 Commonwealth sporting actions that will take place in Delhi, the capital city of India.

  • The opening service will be organize at JN Stadium on 3rd October 2010
  • Aquatics comprising Diving, Swimming, and Synchronized Swimming will be held at Dr SPM Swimming Complex on the below dates
  • Diving 10th October 2010 to 13th October 2010
  • Synchronized Swimming -6th October 2010 to 7th October 2010
  • Swimming 4th October 2010 to 9th October 2010
  • Archery will be organize at Yamuna Sports Complex between 4th October 2010 to 10th October 2010
  • Badminton will be held at Siri Fort Sports Complex, 4th October 2010 to 14th October 2010
  • Athletics Track and Field organize at JN Stadium during 6th October 2010 to 12th October 2010; Walk at India Gate on 9th October 2010; Marathon at JN Stadium on 14th October 2010
  • Boxing at Talkatora Stadium on 13th October 2010 and between 5th and 11th October 2010
  • Gymnastics Artistic (4th to 8th October 2010) and Rhythmic (12th October to 14th October 2010) at IG Sports Complex
  • Cycling - Track at IG Complex -5th to 8th October 2010; Road Time Trails- Noida Highway Express Rd- 13th October 2010; Road Mass Start at India Gate - 10th October 2010
  • Hockey - at Major, Dhyan Chand National Stadium between 4th October 2010 and 14th October 2010
  • Netballs at Thyagaraj Sports Complex on 14th October 2010 and between 4th and 12th October 2010
  • Lawn Bowls at JN Sports Complex between 4th October 2010 and 13th October 2010
  • Shooting - Pistol & Small Bore at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range during 5th and 13th October 2010; Clay Target at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range during 6th and 13th October 2010; Full Bore at CRPF Campus, Kadarpur between 9th and 13th October 2010.
  • Tennis at RK Khanna Tennis Stadium between 4th and 10th October 2010
  • Table Tennis at Yamuna Sports Complex between 4th and 14th October 2010
  • Weightlifting at JN Sports Complex during 4th and 12th October 2010
  • Squash at Siri Fort Sports Complex between 4th and 13th October 2010
  • Wrestling at IG Sports Complex between 5th and 10th October 2010
  • Rugby Sevens at Delhi University between 11th and 12th October 2010
  • The closing ceremony will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on the 14th of October 2010.
2010 Commonwealth events include a broad range of activities. The venues shows above are the competition venues. Numerous non competition venues have also been fixed. Arranging these venues is by itself one of the major 2010 Commonwealth actions.
