ICC Cricket World Cup Groups

The ICC cricket world cup is a big international occasion. These World Cup Cricket matches are based on One Day International cricket matches. International Cricket Council or (ICC) organized the WC matches.
 
This tournament is being organize after every four years since held the primary time in England in 1975.

2011 world cup will be short schedule as compared to the 2007 world cup, the number of teams and matches will be reduced by 2 and the duration of the tournament will be shorten by a week as compared to 2007 world cup. There will be 14 participating teams in the tournament with each divided into two groups including seven teams in each group.

India and Pakistan, South Africa and Australia find themselves in dissimilar groups for the 2012 World Cup. India is placed in Group B along with England, South Africa, West Indies, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Ireland.

Group A - Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Canada Kenya.
Group B - India, South Africa, West Indies, England, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Ireland.

During the 43-day occasion spread over three countries, a total of 13 venues will be used. The top four from every group go through to the quarter-finals with the other teams eliminated.
