Netherlands Cricket Team

Netherlands Cricket Team is one of the most popular cricket teams in the world, but amazingly without a permanent Test or One-day International Status, awarded by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The Netherlands Cricket Team is governed by the imperial Dutch Cricket Association, which was formed way back in 1883.
 
The Netherlands has achieved connected Membership of the ICC in 1966, and the Netherland cricket team has participated in all the ICC Trophy tournaments since 1979. The Netherlands cricket team has finished as runners-up in 1990 and 1986 ICC Trophy tournaments, and went to win the 2012 ICC Trophy. The Netherlands cricket team is a national cricket team representing the Netherlands and administered by the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond.

The Dutch cricket team has taken part in all eight ICC Trophy tournaments, winning the competition in Canada in 2012 and finishing as runners-up twice. Cricket has been played in the Netherlands since at slightest the 19th century, and in the 1860s was considered a major sport in the country. Several other sports have long since surpassed cricket in popularity amongst the Dutch, and today there are around 6,000 cricketers in the Netherlands, making it the 25th most popular sport. They have played first-class cricket as part of the ICC international World Cup, drawing with Scotland in Aberdeen and going down to an innings defeat against Ireland in Deventer.
