Pakistan Cricket Team

The Pakistani cricket team is representing Pakistan cricket board. It is the full member of the ICC with one-day and Test international status. Below we present the brief glance at Pakistan's performances in the past.
 
1975 World Cup: Pakistan was among the eight teams that took part in the first cricket world cup, which was organized in England. Pakistan made a disappointing first round out. West Indies and Australia reached the final, West Indies won by 22 runs.

1979 World Cup : This time Pakistan team much better in the 1979 World Cup. This time team was successful to reach the semi-finals. This time the Cup was taken by West Indies, when it defeats England in the final.

1983 World Cup : This time again Pakistan ran its engine into the semi-final, only to run out of gas at the last second. The semi-final match was against West Indies, and the match result hardly failed to surprise anyone. In the final, India had beaten West Indies to lift the World Cup.

1987 World Cup : For the third time in the row, Pakistan came very close reaching the World Cup final, but was cut short by yet another cruel stroke of bad luck. Australia, which eventually went on to win the World Cup beaten Pakistan in the semi-final by 18 runs.

1992 World Cup : Finally, after reaching three successive semi finals, Pakistan got to clinch the desirable trophy in 1992 World Cup. Imran Khan was captain of the team then. Inzamam-ul-Haq had an unforgettable time as a young player guiding Pakistan to victory.

1996 World Cup : The sub-continent played host to the world cup again, and many cricket fan expected Pakistan to repeat the magic of 1992. To all disappointment of all such hopefuls Pakistan delivered an insipid performance and out in the quarterfinals. That year Sri Lanka won the World Cup title.

1999 World Cup : Pakistan played brilliant cricket to reach the final of 1999 World Cup hosted England. The final, which was touted as one that promised to be a thriller, proved disappointing as the match fell gently to the Australians.

2003 World Cup : Pakistan had a most unhappy performance in the 2003 World Cup as it finished 5th in Pool B, only above the non-test playing nations- Namibia and Netherlands. The world cup title was won yet once more by the Australia.

2007 World Cup : Pakistan ranked 4 th in the ICC One Day Championship is placed in the Group-D of the 2007 World Cup groupings along with Ireland, Zimbabwe and West Indies. Inzamam-ul-Haq leaded the team of the World Cup. But this time Pakistan team is also fait the won the world cup title.
